<\/p>\nWe sat 41 people for dinner for Thanksgiving this year. Well, technically, 37 adults (if you include one 16 year old velociraptor) and 4 kids under 10.<\/p>\n
The menu was as follows:
\nThai pumpkin soup with gougeres
\nSmoked turkey
\nRoasted turkey with confit legs
\nStock-braised turkey legs
\nDeep fried turkey
\nRoasted pork shoulder
\nRoast duck
\nRoasted beets with chimichurri sauce
\nSkillet roasted Brussel sprouts with mustard and brown sugar
\nChickpea, arugula, and picked carrot salad
\nSweet potato and star fruit chaat
\nMom\u2019s stuffing (that\u2019s Jim\u2019s mom, obviously)
\nMashed potatoes
\nOrange cranberry sauce
\nKimchi
\nRice
\nGravy
\nHawaiian dinner rolls
\nChocolate pumpkin cheesecake
\nBlackberry pie
\nApple pie
\nPumpkin spice cake<\/p>\n
If there is a term for exhausted and stuffed at the end of a meal (stuffausted? exuffed?), that\u2019s what we were. Thankfully, Jim\u2019s nephew, Robert, came to help cook, and Robert\u2019s girlfriend, Victoria, made the pumpkin spice cakes. (We had two of each dessert.)
\nAnd since Thanksgiving is all about thankfulness, I would like to say that we are extraordinarily thankful for our family and friends, who celebrate with us in good times and sustain us in bad times.
