{"id":1090,"date":"2014-02-08T14:54:45","date_gmt":"2014-02-08T19:54:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mayliang.us\/?p=1090"},"modified":"2014-02-08T14:54:45","modified_gmt":"2014-02-08T19:54:45","slug":"institute-for-justice-dinner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mayliang.us\/?p=1090","title":{"rendered":"Institute for Justice dinner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jim is on the board of the Institute for Justice, and we had the board and almost everyone in the organization (approximately 44 people) over for dinner last night.\u00a0 Robert, Jim\u2019s nephew, came out and helped cook.\u00a0 Without him, we would never have been able to pull this dinner off.<\/p>\n<p>The menu was as follows (no photos, sorry!\u00a0 when there are 40+ people in your house, you forget mundane things like taking photos of the food.)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cheese &amp; Charcuterie with Garlic Grilled Baguettes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Lamb Shanks with Rosemary Orange Gremolata<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Oven Roasted Herb Shrimp<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Moroccan Vegetables<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Couscous<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Tunisian Beet &amp; Potato Salad<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Pineapple with Lime Honey and Lemongrass<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Tossed Salad<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Fresh Berry Salad<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Chocolate Pots de Cr\u00e8me<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As with all meals, I was responsible only for the Chocolate Pots de Cr\u00e8me, cleaning up the house, and doing dishes during the day.\u00a0 J\u00a0 And the good news is that there are lots of leftovers, so I can continue to leisurely eat my way through this meal.<\/p>\n<p>Jim has been on the board of IJ for over 20 years.\u00a0 IJ was founded in 1991 and is a civil liberties non-profit.\u00a0 They defend people\u2019s rights relating to private property, economic liberty, free speech, and school choice.\u00a0 In addition to being an incredible group of dedicated professionals, they are also really fun people to hang out with.\u00a0 (As an example, within 60 seconds of arriving at our home, there was already a pool game underway.)<\/p>\n<p>You can find out more about this extraordinary organization at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ij.org\">www.ij.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jim is on the board of the Institute for Justice, and we had the board and almost everyone in the organization (approximately 44 people) over for dinner last night.\u00a0 Robert, Jim\u2019s nephew, came out and helped cook.\u00a0 Without him, we would never have been able to pull this dinner off.
